We asked Cindy a few questions about Women in Construction…
What advice would you give to a young woman entering the construction industry?
Try not to be intimated by this industry. More women are working in construction, not just within a trade, but as engineers, architects, designers, project managers, project coordinators, project engineers, estimators, safety specialists, and even accounting.
How do you think the construction industry can attract more female candidates?
There are many technical, design, and management positions available. All roles don’t necessarily involve hard labor and heavy lifting. Attracting females to the construction industry should be a priority as many are more than capable of performing the job.
What is the best part of your job?
I enjoy the constant challenges and learning opportunities.
